Job Purpose (Job Summary): Invesco is seeking to identify an Analyst who will be part of Invesco's Mid-Cap Relative Value team based in Houston, Texas. Reporting to the lead portfolio manager, the Analyst's primary responsibility will be to conduct fundamental bottom-up research for a mid-cap fund. Candidates should be well versed in the value investment process (preferable with an emphasis in relative value investing) and possess strong experience value-oriented equity financial modeling, including discounted cash flow, balance sheet, and market-based valuation approaches.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
The Analyst will generate successful long-term investment ideas through superior bottom-up, fundamental research
Provide constant monitoring of relevant actions and events impacting his/her primary coverage responsibilities
He /she will develop unique research insights by identifying creative sources of data and by a relentless pursuit of value-added information, all in the service of arriving at well supported investment conclusions
Proactively develop and discuss investment recommendations with the lead portfolio manager and other senior members of the team
Demonstrate conviction and an ongoing commitment to updating and reassessing his/her view on investment theses to assure appropriateness within the team's valuation framework
He/she will participate in regular team meetings and produce, as appropriate, written communications and updates on companies in the portfolio or for consideration in the portfolio
He/she may also communicate with marketing, sales and product specialist teams to articulate investment process and performance
The Analyst may also participate in research based due-diligence sessions
Work Experience / Knowledge:
Three to seven years of experience as a value equity investor, with demonstrated alpha success
Exposure to multiple industry sectors/capitalizations
History with a long-term oriented, research-intensive, firm (buy-side experience preferred (e.g, mutual fund, insurance and/or public pension fund))
Proven experience in value investing process with an emphasis in relative value investment process
Accounting and/or balance sheet analysis experience is additive
The ability to conduct in-depth company analysis, develop successful investment ideas and make decisions that lead to strong performance

Strong academic credentials, including a bachelor's degree and an MBA/graduate degree preferred

A CFA designation or demonstrated commitment to the completion of the CFA program is preferred
