Man GPM focuses on assets within private markets. The firm will look to long duration assets to provide truly differentiated return streams not available on public markets for our clients. Acquired by Man Group in 2017, Aalto manages a range of real estate debt and equity investments with $2.2bn of assets under management, with teams in London (UK), Charlotte (North Carolina), and Pfäffikon (Switzerland). Aalto takes hands-on approach to managing investments and seeks to generate alpha by direct origination, in-house structuring and active ongoing involvement in the investments it manages. The team has experience deploying capital in markets where it believes pricing inefficiencies arise, having invested in European CMBS since 2011, US residential real estate since 2012, European real estate loans since 2013 and US real estate loans since 2015. Aalto manages $0.8bn of equity in direct real estate, with a focus on residential assets in the US; and $1.3bn in real estate debt, both in the US and Europe.
Overview: We are looking for an analyst to join our residential real estate acquisition team. This candidate will support Acquisition, Development and Construction activities. Possessing excellent communication and administrative skills, the Analyst will be responsible for a significant portion of the day to day functions of acquiring homes for the portfolio:
Assisting in the acquisition and administration of all operations and processes of a portfolio of single family residential real estate assets
Evaluation of existing homes to ensure they meet quantitative and qualitative buying guidelines
Conduct financial analysis and financial modeling related to the acquisition, development and construction of single family homes and single family home portfolios
Research housing trends in existing markets and submarkets, as well as perform due diligence on potential new markets to expand the rental strategy
Maintain acquisition and cash balance reporting for senior management
Preparation of presentations and executive summaries for delivery to investment committee and investors
Expected to perform under pressure in order to meet critical deadlines
Work with members of other strategies as needed to provide support
Undergraduate/Graduate Degree with a preferred major in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Real Estate, or other relevant coursework and a strong overall academic performance
Exceptional analytic skills and advanced Excel proficiency/experience
1+ year(s) experience in investment banking/capital markets , or 2+ years in a residential real estate investment role
Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
Extremely accurate with a high attention to detail
Ability to multitask and proactively follow up on outstanding items
Highly reliable, possessing integrity and team-oriented
Willing to work long hours and travel, when necessary
Efficient in time management, well-organized and competent in IT
