Identify, analyze, and resolve complex regulatory legal issues with solution-oriented focus while pragmatically balancing risk
Advise on regulatory issues involving the European Banking Authority (EBA), European Securities and Market Authority (ESMA), UK Financial Services and Markets Act (FSMA) and EU Money Laundering Directives (Fourth/Fifth)
Support the DPO, Privacy Office team and other in-house attorneys in advising the business and global functions on all aspects of privacy and data protection.
Advise and support deal lawyers with customer, partner, and supplier negotiations, including the participation in negotiations as needed.
Advise on privacy risk governance including privacy impact assessments
Support the design, management, and implementation of key compliance projects, including GDPR, Binding Corporate Rules and the development of new policies and standards.
Support the corporate compliance team in performing investigations of allegations of misconduct, fraud and other violations of law.
Assist with the collection and analysis of documentation necessary to satisfy legal requests.
Promote awareness for regulatory risk and share growing regulatory expertise with business teams, managers, through both formal and informal training
Seven or more years of compliance, regulatory and/or privacy experience in a law firm or in-house
Experience with IT services/products business preferred.
Experience with banking regulatory laws preferred.
CIPP-EU qualification preferred but not essential.
Proven expertise in European data protection law preferred but not essential if the candidate is prepared to develop expertise in this area.
Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving skills to be able to quickly understand and effectively support complex business initiatives and compliance programs.
Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in legal and business teams and form strong working relationships.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a variable workload.
