Portfolio Administration provides operational investment support to the SSGA Portfolio Managers. As the key point of contact for the Portfolio Management team, and other internal clients, you will be allocated portfolios which you would be responsible for in an operational capacity. This role will be supporting the Emerging Markets Fixed Income portfolios
Daily functions would include but not be limited to:
Verification of Fund Valuations
Performance calculation, preliminary review and query resolution
Investigating and resolving queries from Clients and Portfolio Managers
Key external interactions will be with Custodians, Fund Administrators, Counterparts and other Third Party providers. Internally, you will interact with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Compliance, Legal and Risk, as well as other operations teams such as Client Administration, New Business and the Reconciliations team.
You will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with the Portfolio Managers, so advanced knowledge of Emerging Markets bonds is essential. You will also play a key role in reviewing processes and procedures within the team, looking to strengthen controls to reduce operational risk. You will be required to represent EM Fixed Income Portfolio Admin with strategic projects, and take the lead for the team during client events such as new fund launches and account restructures
Education and Experience
Operations experience gained from an investment manager, investment bank, hedge fund, prime broker or fund administrator.
Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline preferred.
Professional industry qualifications an advantage.
Product Experience Desirable:
Strong technical knowledge of Emerging Market bonds, specifically valuations, performance calculations and attribution
FX spot and forwards

You understand investment markets and the settlement of securities. Understanding of product and fund valuation useful.
Strong MS Windows applications, specifically Excel. Exposure to Barclays POINT and Bloomberg is an advantage.
Ability to build strong positive relationships with both internal and external clients.
Willing to assume responsibility and take ownership of tasks assigned.
