JobDescription : The Role: Director, Infrastructure Ratings Greater China
The Location: Hong Kong
The Team / Business: The Practice was established by S&P Global Ratings to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong global growth and to leverage our significant infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure asset classes. This growth is especially strong in the Greater China region where the development and financing of infrastructure projects is essential for continued economic growth. Globally, analytical team members reside in 24 locations and work on a diverse range of transactions applying different ratings criteria, predominantly corporate and project finance. We also work on transactions in partnership with other practices on a regular basis. Effective teamwork, strong written and verbal communication skills and a thoughtful approach to problem solving are highly valued.

Your analysis and work is essential to the covering of a diverse portfolio of credits, as well as in the training of others to help them resolve difficult day-to-day analytical issues and problems.

Analyze a portfolio of assigned entities as well as complex situations, data and information
Assess client's financial projections and resolve difficult deal-specific analytical situations
Meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media requirements in conjunction with other senior members of the organization, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credit ratings
Rate complex deals, and proficiently write complex analytical reports
Serve to establish policy, lead criteria, policy, and analytical deliberations, identify and develop needed changes/innovations in rating methodology/criteria standards and the ratings process, and ensure that analytical guidelines, quality standards, procedures and policies established are adhered to for all credits
Act as a senior member of rating committees and be responsible for convening and conducting of rating committee deliberations in area of expertise, including acting as the rating committee chair and assuring the integrity of the rating process. Participate as an active, vocal voting member of the committee
Display strong sector expertise. Publish timely industry commentaries, and proficiently write sector reviews and thought leadership pieces. Develop and lead ideas on papers across a broad range of issues for publication in S&P journals and other publications
Speaking publically and representing the company to external stakeholders
Model the leadership behaviors and coach and mentor junior staff
Understand and implement S&P's Policies and SOPs
Take the lead on special projects within the Practice as appropriate
What we're looking for:
Possess critical thinking skills, along with quantitative analytical strength.
A bachelor's and advanced degree is required
Minimum of 10 years in financial services
Excellent time management and the ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and multitask;
Strong verbal communication and writing skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; the ability to think independently and critically; and the ability to mentor others
A strong background working with Chinese corporations in the infrastructure, utilities and Local Government Financing Vehicle (LGFV) sectors is a strong plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
