Structurer/Commercial Real Estate Moscow/Frankfurt

The Structurer (Director) will be part of the Global Structuring Group which is spread across Moscow, Frankfurt and Zug. The role is primarily focused on structuring and executing commercial real estate financing deals. However, the role is broad and deal flow includes cross-border leveraged finance, asset-based finance, mezzanine finance, commodity finance and other structured finance deals with a global client set.
The Structurer shall be involved in negotiation of transactions from early stage and he/she will be leading a deal starting from due diligence/inception until execution/closing.
The job holder will also, at times, be required to work with a range of other products and should have working knowledge of derivatives and equity-linked financing.
The Structurer will work as part of a team with other members of the Structuring group, as well as with research, traders, salespeople and bankers. This is a client-facing role, so the Structurer is expected to possess practical negotiating and public speaking experience.
The Structurer's main duties will comprise structuring, negotiating and executing transactions with a primary focus on deals involving illiquid loans. The job holder will also, at times, be required to work with a range of other products (e.g., equities and derivatives).
The positions requires strong team working skills and the candidate should be able to bring in expertise of various departments such as finance, tax, legal, etc in order to provide that all aspects of a transaction are considered with due scrutiny and prudence.
Specific tasks include structuring transactions, working on cross-product idea generation, engaging in commercial negotiations, negotiating documentation and instructing counsel in respect of its drafting, leading and coordinating the deal closing process.
Key Competencies & Qualifications
Deep understanding of commercial and legal considerations, proven deal execution experience, knowledge of legal framework & structure, tax, accounting, regulatory aspects are essential - as well as peculiarities of local business and legal environment.
Experience in cross-border commercial real estate financing is a must, together with general exposure to structuring complex deals in Emerging Markets jurisdictions. Communication, negotiation, project management and teamworking skills are of great importance at this job, as it requires direct client facing and negotiating skills. Track record in creating the governance and other infrastructure for the execution processes is essential.
The Structurer will be required to work across a number of challenging jurisdictions in an entrepreneurial environment. She may be required to travel to Russia, CIS and possibly other countries.
Working knowledge of Russian is a requirement. Other languages are a big plus. CFA and/or ACCA qualification is also a plus.
