Scott-Macon is seeking a Senior Analyst/Associate to assist the firm's senior corporate finance professionals in executing principally both buy-side and sell-side investment banking mandates in the Consumer Products & Retail Investment Banking Group. The Senior Analyst/Associate's responsibilities will provide support on transactions, from inception through closing.
Certain specific responsibilities include:
Working with the Managing Director and Vice President in developing pitch materials
Attending pitches with senior officers
Developing potential buyer / target lists
Coordinating confidentiality agreements
Drafting and distributing detailed information memorandums
Developing integrated financial models
Populating data room information along with coordinating additional due diligence questions
Updating clients with formal PowerPoint presentations as necessary
Reviewing and preparing summaries of letters of intent with the supervision of senior officers and participating in the negotiation process
General requirements include:
Outstanding analytical skills, including strong knowledge of accounting and tax conventions, deal structures, and valuation across industries and asset classes in both healthy and distressed situations
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
Superior organizational and time management skills
Ability to follow-up independently and consistently
Creative and proven ability to package opportunities with best practices
High energy level and enthusiasm
Demonstrated team player
Basic background qualifications include:
2 to 5 years of investment banking or related experience with proven client interaction
Strong academic background (MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred, but not required)
Ability to understand financial statements and construct financial models
Full command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with related financial services software
