Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is one of the largest and most dynamic industry groups within the Credit Suisse Investment Banking and Capital Markets Division, covering wide range of leading banks, insurers, asset managers and financial technology companies. The EMEA team is mostly London based functioning as a key link between our Asia Pacific and Americas franchises.
Key responsibilities of the role:
You will be responsible for the preparation of financial / strategic analyses and presentation materials supporting corporate finance advice provided to our clients, the majority of whom are large companies. There will be a mix of origination and execution work within FIG across different products (but with a centre of gravity around the core M&A and ECM products).
Origination, Relationship Building and Coverage:
Idea generation - being aware of trends and developments in the UK financial institutions sector and combining this with product knowledge to spot opportunities for CS clients
Production of pitches - working with Analysts and Vice Presidents to produce focused well-argued presentations and supporting analysis
Verbal presentation of analysis and sections of pitches to clients of all levels
Developing technical expertise on the regulations and constraints governing the industry
Taking care of clients on detailed, day-to-day aspects of transactions
Liaising with advisors, lawyers, accountants and other counter parties to produce prospectuses and other legal documentation
Undertaking full valuation analysis and drafting of valuation materials for clients, with limit mentorship
Developing complex financial models, working with clients to develop inputs and modelling approach and using output to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Preparing, presenting, and producing marketing and due diligence materials and documents for CS internal approval processes (syndication memo, syndication presentation, roadshow presentations, ...)
Management of Analysts - coordinating Analyst work on projects, developing Analysts through delegation of responsibility.
Preferably you will be at the Associate level within an Investment Bank at the moment
You will need excellent financial modelling (discounted cash flow and discount model) and valuation skills
You should be able to produce technically excellent written materials - prospectuses, credit committee memos, investment banking committee memos, client pitches
Excellent organisational, interpersonal and project management skills, as well as the ability to build and retain relationships internally and externally
You will need to prioritise well and handle own workload accordingly; be efficient and remain calm under pressure
