Background about Lone Star Funds and Hudson Advisors
Lone Star is a leading private equity firm that invests globally in equity, credit, real estate and other financial assets. Since the establishment of its first fund in 1995, Lone Star has organized seventeen private equity funds ("the Funds") with aggregate capital commitments totaling over $70 billion. Lone Star is currently investing out of two global funds: a US$5.8 billion real estate fund (Real Estate Fund V) that focuses on commercial real estate investments, and a US$5.6 billion opportunity fund (Opportunity Fund X) that invests in non-commercial real estate opportunities.
Since 1995, Hudson has continued to provide a globally integrated, full-service asset management, underwriting, due diligence and other day-to-day support services to Lone Star and to the assets acquired by the funds.
The candidate will be assisting Lone Star's large pipeline of deals across different industries with underwriting, due diligence and execution efforts for the Opportunity Fund, focusing on general corporate, non-commercial real estate opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The candidate will be involved with identifying, evaluating, negotiating, structuring, executing, and monitoring private equity investments including, but are not limited to, operating companies, both public and private stocks, distressed situations and mezzanine debts.
The Vice President role will involve significant responsibilities managing the execution of deal opportunities, including but not limited to managing internal teams and external advisors during underwriting, due diligence and post investment asset management efforts. Successful candidates should have the following:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a top tier consulting firm, investment bank, or private equity fund; buy-side experience preferred but not required
Prior experience working in Asia
Demonstrated strong academic track record and a top performer in prior roles
Very strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial assets, equity transactions and debt structures
Prior hands on execution experience, including managing internal teams and working with external advisors
Mandarin and English fluency required
Self-motivating, personable and a strong team player
