The Corporate Models and Parameters Team is part of a dedicated department responsible for the credit risk models that are used within the corporate bank. Being a part of this team is a great way to gain exposure to a wide range of models and modelling approaches, as well as having the opportunity to innovate and to develop skills ranging from design and coding through to communication and presentations.
The team is part of the wider Risk Division that is responsible for the bank's lending decisions, ensuring that this is both affordable for the customer and profitable for the bank. It is also responsible for tracking and reporting the level of risk within each of the bank's portfolios and that we satisfy lending requirements.

As a Senior Quantitative Modeller your main responsibilities will be
Design, build and implement models for different asset classes and provide quantitative analytical support to UK corporate banking.
Take ownership of existing models, pricing tools and portfolio management reporting in terms of model performance.
Liaise with Model Owners and Users to provide quantitative solutions in timely manner. Liaise with other quantitative analysts within the Santander Group to ensure that local solutions are consistent with any existing group approach.
Liaise with Internal Validation and Audit functions supplying required analysis and input into the Validation and Audit processes.
Provide senior input into model development projects, ability to take ownership and management of tasks to completion.
Minimum skills and experience required
Previous experience building credit risk models, including knowledge of regulation, estimation and validation techniques relevant to compliance with IRB modelling.
Degree educated or equivalent in a numerate discipline.
Advanced computer literacy, in particular SAS.
Proven ability in model development and detailed knowledge of business strategies and banking products in corporate and commercial markets would be beneficial.
