As part of an initiative to grow the Global Equities business, Citi is looking to expand its product offering by introducing Global Quantitative Prime Brokerage project (QPB) and is looking to hire a business analyst (BA) as part of the Equities IT team in Hong Kong with requisite experience to contribute to this project from an analysis perspective.
Experience with quantitative prime brokerage, direct market access, low latency flow, stock borrows, pre-trade checks and front to back cash equities prime brokerage flow are required. The role will require specialist business analyst experience of working on Delta 1 (DMA into Single Stock swaps) and DMA as an Executing Broker booking into Prime Brokerage. This includes associated peripheral knowledge around key integration areas such as: client hierarchies, intercompany booking models (both agency and principle including netting), short selling regulations & position management, locate & short inventory management, swap re-rating, swap internalisation and risk management. An understanding of operational aspects such as client billing, client reporting and corporate action processing would also be highly advantageous.
This position represents a senior business analyst focusing on analysis and coordination of Quantitative Prime Brokerage business in Asia. It requires the selected candidate to work closely with business and technology groups to ensure that the high quality of requirements including business and functional requirements are clearly documented.
The role requires frequent interaction with people at many levels of the organization across multiple departments including the Front Office Business, Middle Office, Finance, Compliance, Technology and external vendors.
In this fast paced environment the successful candidate must be able to prioritize tasks, work within deadlines, taking a pragmatic approach and paying close attention to details. The successful candidate will need to employ strong oral and written communication skills, necessary to effectively produce solutions.

Gathering and documenting robust business requirements for new initiatives in quantitative prime brokerage to Citi standards. This could include expansion into a new product or a new market, sometimes via a vendor but often via internal development.
Developing individual project artifacts as necessary including Business Requirements Documentation (BRD's), Functional Requirements Documentation (FRD's), test planning and scenario documents for user acceptance testing (UAT), project plans as required for all key technical deliveries.
Collaborate with other business analysts particularly those working on Citi's new low-latency trading engine and GUI and those involved in the implementation of post-trade risk checks.
Analyze existing workflows and document any necessary re-engineering.
Assist with both QA and user testing as the key business analyst for QPB ASPAC.
Providing implementation / post-implementation project support for QPB ASPAC
Foster and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, support, testing and development team members
Identify key project risks and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly
This role is somewhat unique in that it provides an insight into a piece of truly global change and the ability to witness the introduction of a brand new product offering for Citi
Successful candidate will have exposure to a wide-ranging number of internal teams across many different business such as technology, operations, finance, front office, credit & risk
QPB has many senior stakeholders meaning the nature of this role means that the candidate will gain a great deal of exposure to senior management
Candidate will gain or improve program and project management skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Track record as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry.
9 -14 years working knowledge in the Equities IT space and exposure to Cash Prime Brokerage flows.
Strong business analysis skills (requirements, design, development, testing and deployment)
Strong background in running multiple complex projects
Exposure to swaps workflows for high touch, DMA flows.
Experience of working on Delta 1 (DMA into Single Stock swaps)
Knowledge of low latency with ultra low latency experience an advantage
