Purpose of role: SPDR Fixed Income Specialist Sales - 75% sales & 25% capital markets Develop a comprehensive sales plan to build and develop the SPDR Fixed Income opportunity in the UK with considerations including addressable market opportunity, marketing requirements, capital markets and infrastructure requirements. Drive ETF sales coverage through partnership with UK sales across fund selectors in multi-asset/multi-manager/wealth manager clients in the UK. Develop coverage of bond portfolio managers at multi-asset and multi-manager clients. In collaboration with our UK sales team, extend coverage of our insurance, HF and other institutional bond buyer clients. Develop relationships with trading desks across UK client base. Work with the sales strategy and marketing teams globally to develop segment specific fixed income content. Work with product development team to contribute to range management and new product discussions. Act as the trading (primary and secondary market) subject matter expert in CMG engagements with APs, market makers and end-clients (EMEA-wide) Lead CMG ecosystem efforts; RFQ platforms, MTFs/Trading Venues and Securities Lending in fixed income ETFs Engage with internal PMs on matters related to trading, operations and product development (with Product team) to drive the State Street ETFs fixed income franchise forward Drive discussions around ETFs versus other wrappers (futures, swaps) with APs/market makers but also end-clients. Serve as primary resource for fixed income trading requests. Work with the US fixed income State Street ETFs team to shape global strategy, engage with APAC team to drive business forward Improve fixed income content distribution with APs; host teach-ins, up SPDR share of voice in third party content pieces (sell-side research and trading ideas collateral etc.)
Major responsibilities: Serves as the fixed income specialist within the UK sales team and EMEA/Asia capital markets team. Responsible for our strategic and tactical fixed income plans.
Strategic - Develop sales plan for growth of FI SPDR ETFs with bond buyers
Fixed Income Champions - Partner with global FI Champions to develop and execute global sales and marketing initiatives
Capital markets - Act as the trading (primary and secondary market) subject matter expert in CMG engagements with APs, market makers and end-clients (EMEA-wide)
Sales Strategy - Partner with SPDR sales strategy team to execute FI specific sales and marketing strategies
Product Development - Partner with Product team in sourcing new product ideas and providing high quality feedback to the product development process.
Media - Contrubute to SPDR FI media plan
Internal Partnership - Work closely and collaboratively with all Client Facing Teams in the UK and EMEA to promote FI SDPR across channels while ensuring strong overall team collaboration
Person specification: Education and experience -
Has operated at a senior level in strategic sales, marketing and client management for an extended period of time.
Strong Client Facing and/or Investment experience in the asset management industry
Confirmed existing relationships with the top tier client base
Confirmed ability to develop and execute successfully on strategic sales plans.
Degree qualified or equivalent with a financial or analytical discipline preferred
Specific technical knowledge:
Strong ETF knowledge and related technical understanding.
Strong business instincts, good judgment and creative mindset.
Advanced communication and client relationship management skills.
Proven ability to provide fresh insights and new ways of approaching issues based on past experiences, a global perspective, and well-articulated facts and reasoning.
