Set strategy, direction and targets for the Research Department, with an aim to advance its reputation and credibility in the market.
Work closely with Directors in charge of Investment Banking, Investment, Institutional and Local Brokerage and other relevant departments to effectively support their analytical needs in order to serve their respective clients.
Promote VCSC image and expand business network to recruit new business, especially for Institutional Brokerage and Investment Banking.
Represent VCSC in media interviews or in meetings with clients and deal partners.
Supervise the daily operation of the department to ensure professionalism and efficiency of staff and to ensure the quality, accuracy and timeliness of research products, including research reports and other support services to clients and other departments.
Manage and lead a team of junior to senior-level professionals to ensure professionalism and efficiency of staff and to ensure the quality, accuracy and timeliness of research products, including research reports and other support services to clients and other departments.
Ensure strict observation of VCSC corporate policies; establish and maintain the high standards of conduct.
Define job descriptions, responsibilities and objectives of key functions; recommend promotions, demotions of staff; expand the capability of the department by strengthening current team members and recruit new talents.
Develop team to create a healthy performance driven culture and enhance the knowledge base, skills, talent and capability of the team.
Ideal candidates will have:
University degree holder in Finance or related disciplines, MBA is a plus.
Professional qualification (CPA, CFA, etc.) will be a plus.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Investment Banking, Equity Research or related fields with proven track records.
Comprehensive knowledge in the stock market.
Strong analytical skills, including expertise in the financial modeling, market research and investment analysis.
Knowledge and ability to implement principles of management, leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, and motivation.
Good interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a dynamic team environment that is delivery focused and customer focused.
Fluent in English (written and verbal) is a must.
Advanced computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Previous experience or background working within an Asian context would be advantageous.
