We are looking for an experienced tax manager with expertise in private equity, real estate, private debt and infrastructure to provide first level support on all direct tax matters related to the companies within each of the funds structures. The role will include involvement in a wide variety of tax matters including corporate tax compliance, assisting in the procurement of tax structuring advice for pan European transactions and coordinating analysis of treaty changes. Reporting to the Head of department, the Tax manager will work closely with the Company Group Tax department and the teams spread throughout Europe, Asia and the US. This truly international role will include, but not be limited to, the following activities:
Procuring tax-structuring advice and advising on investment tax structures;
Reviewing direct tax returns prepared by external tax advisors and accounting firms;
Liaising with the local tax office in respect of assessments, audits and appeals;
Performing risk assessment in respect of tax issues;
Acting as the contact person for external tax advisors;
Reviewing and updating department procedures, controls and checklists on a regular basis relating to a wide range of tax matters;
Ensuring all tax filing deadlines are met and investment entities remain tax compliant;
Assessing and communicating impact of new tax developments to the Private Asset team;
Coaching and assisting fund controllers in respect of tax related matters;
Developing knowledge and understanding of transfer pricing concepts and with support and training, establishing interest rates on intercompany loans based on asset risk profile, undertaking interest rate benchmarking analysis and establishing target debt to equity ratios;
Performing ad-hoc projects and missions including developing solutions for new private asset investment products
THE CANDIDATE PROFILE
A degree in finance, economics, tax law or equivalent;
An accounting and / or tax professional qualification;
At least 5 years of experience in tax compliance ideally gained supporting private asset structures including real estate, private equity, private debt and infrastructure debt and equity;
Ability to demonstrate relevant technical experience and competencies;
Proven technical background and drive to remain up-to-date with regulatory and industry developments;
Desire to learn and expand knowledge and responsibilities in a dynamic team and major growth area in the company worldwide;
Highly professional approach to work;
Drive and determination; and
Excellent written and spoken English with fluency in French or German being a clear advantage.
