InterSearch Executive Consultants GmbH & Co. KG
July 6, 2018
Our client is the financial services division of one of the biggest material handling equipment manufacturers world-wide and currently in expansion mode. The financial subsidiary offers leasing, long-term rentals, hire purchase and conventional loans to commercial customers who want to finance forklift trucks. To develop the European market further and drive various commercial finance business initiatives, we are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (m/f) with a strong background in truck leasing and financial services. As the position demands a high level of travel, job location is negotiable.
In direct reporting line to and in close cooperation with the Managing Director you will be responsible for the strategic development of financial products and corresponding services to facilitate the booming forklift truck market in Europe. On the basis of thorough market analyses and internal business intelligence you will identify customer needs, prepare and present feasibility studies for market development and new business initiatives and implement approved plans by ensuring appropriate expert input and collaboration across all relevant areas, e.g. with the Business Solutions Team. Moreover, you will manage local implementation projects, monitor the performance against agreed objectives and timelines, and take remedial actions as required. You will build up trusting work relationships internally and externally with local companies/dealers, partners, and suppliers to guarantee smooth communication and integration of new financial product and service offerings. Lastly, you will monitor and prepare relevant statistics and reports to continuously improve performance and manage the function's operating costs in line with the pre-agreed budget.
Having completed a university degree in Business Administration or equivalent you gained several years of relevant work experience in business and product development within the finance industry, ideally with a focus on financing movable assets. In addition to extensive international experience, you have profound knowledge in a variety of financial services – from conventional loans to innovative leasing and rental models. You have a good understanding of the different European cultures and are able to negotiate and mediate effectively in English at an international level. You are self-motivated, a proactive and pragmatic team player with an analytical mindset who knows how to identify and satisfy complex customer needs. Fluent English skills are indispensable; knowledge of any other European language would be an additional asset. Willingness to travel internationally completes your professional profile.
