Partner with a business area, building effective relationships with key stakeholders
Proactively provide support, guidance and challenge on all aspects of compliance
Be the main point of contact for Senior Managers across the account area,
Contribute at operational meetings providing influence where needed
Handle queries consistently and in a timely fashion, providing good quality advice and recording cases.
Act as a liaison between the business and other compliance functions.
Support business change and operational initiatives to achieve compliance in a cost effective and business friendly manner.
Taking ownership of compliance projects or work streams and involving internal stakeholders where required.
Develop subject matter expertise becoming the go-to person and arranging internal training as required.
Deliver project management support to the Compliance function, by managing self-contained projects or by assisting the Compliance Manager in wider programs. Ensure consistency of approach across the function.
Work effectively across global compliance teams to deliver consistent and high standard service
Provide input into the development of consistent and appropriate Compliance policies and procedures, sensitive to local regulatory requirements
Identify & escalate risk and themes to management whilst proposing solutions to mitigate future issues
Skills and Experience:
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, ideally across multiple jurisdictions
Ability to balance commercial considerations with regulatory principles and risk appetite
Strong written and oral skills
Well-organised and able to manage work load
University degree desirable or a minimum of 5-7 years working in a compliance department of an applicable regulated financial services company.
Influencing and negotiating with the ability to build credible relationships with stakeholders
Ability to constructively challenge the business whilst being solution focused
Strong customer service ethic
Good team work, able to across regions and locations
High attention to detail
Business department heads, Underwriters, Claims management and Operations managers.
