Report directly to Chief Legal counsel of Global Market, this role is essential to provide comprehensive legal advisory to the business including global market, derivatives products, treasury and capital market. You will be responsible to play a leading senior role in a team of negotiators to support the business in their documentation requirements predominantly on ISDA related agreement as well as you will support and facilitate the treasury and capital market business by supporting sales and relationship managers through the negotiation and management of traded markets documentation such as primarily derivatives master agreements.
In addition, you will be responsible to ensure key legal, regulatory and credit risks are addressed appropriately for the area of responsibility, you will conduct capacity, netting and collateral enforceability assessments across all counterparty types and businesses. As the senior member in the team you will manage internal projects in the roll out of new initiatives such as use of new databases or other internal systems to address regulatory changes, standard template or policy updates.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
Over 8 years of PQE qualified lawyer or solid legal background with law degree holder
Solid experience as negotiator background in the Derivatives field within banking and FS sector
Experience in negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and related or similar documentation
Equipped knowledge of rules, regulations and statutory requirements of Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Securities & Futures Commission and other regulatory bodies will be plus
Significant leadership experience and a strategic thinker
Excellent knowledge of a variety of traded markets master agreement documentation and their underlying products such as ISDA and other market standard derivatives or securities financing agreements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of dealing with executives and senior business stakeholders at all levels
Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred
Fluency in both English and Cantonese
