The Corporate Counsel - Cryptocurrency will be responsible for providing ongoing regulatory advice and support, leading inbound investment activities and providing general legal support for all business activities of the company. Familiarity with, or strong interest in, cryptocurrency trading and initial coin offerings is highly beneficial. This is an interesting and dynamic role, with the opportunity to grow and shape the legal department for the company.
Salary Range: CHF 120,000-155,000
Applicants should have at least 3-5 years of financial services regulatory experience and/or securities law experience, preferably with a combination of reputable law firm and multinational corporate legal department supporting new technology clients or the fintech sector. Excellent written and verbal skills in English and German are essential, and fluency or high level of proficiency in other languages also useful. Civil law qualification (Germany/Switzerland) preferred.
Additional qualifications and experience include: ● Proven ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment ● Experience in developing relationships with regulators even to the point of being involved in new policy formation ● Preferably has had dealings with crypto platforms and exchanges or other forms of block chain applications ● Corporate/company secretarial, joint venture, M&A and other corporate-related practice areas ● Experience drafting and implementing compliance programs in the financial services sector ● Experience with data protection regulation, privacy disclaimers and ability to ensure GDPR compliance. ● Experience in e-commerce and on-line contracting, preferably in the financial services sector (securities dealers, FX, exchanges is a plus). Familiarity with data protection and security, consumer protection, and on-line trading/banking also highly useful.
Location: The candidate will be located in either Zurich or Zug, Switzerland.
