As part of Global Risk, Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC's regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. The team strives to remain ahead of the regulatory change agenda and ensures the business understands the implications and is prepared for change. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Regulatory Compliance Manager, International.
Responsible for assisting the Head of Regulatory Compliance Asia Pacific and the Head of International Asia Pacific to implement strategy, standards, global systems and policies on compliance other than in relation to financial crime risks in Asia Pacific
To monitor, track and communicate major proposals for regulatory change and regulatory and law enforcement trends for all areas of compliance risk other than in relation to financial crime. To communicate these proposals and trends to senior management in Asia Pacific to support and facilitate a strategic appraisal of those trends as well as relevant opportunities and risks
Assisting the Head of Regulatory Compliance Asia Pacific and Head of International to support the development of the Regulatory Compliance function as a key part of the Group's second line of defence in relation to compliance risk
In support of the Head of Regulatory Compliance Asia Pacific and Head of International to discharge the responsibilities as principal risk owner of compliance and reputational risk in Asia Pacific other than in relation to financial crime risks
Provide advice and guidance to regional Business and Functions on regional and global initiatives, inclusive of engaging and seeking required approval from the regulators
Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance Asia Pacific and the Head of International to oversee implementation of Global Regulatory Compliance policies in the regions and providing necessary advice and guidance to the country Head of Regulatory Compliance and their respective teams
Provide compliance support in regional strategic projects, inclusive of engaging and seeking required approval from the regulator in liaison with relevant stakeholders
Support the Head of Regulatory Compliance Asia Pacific and the Head of International in ensuring all reporting and ad hoc information request from Group and Regional Management are completed within timelines
Experience either through a major Compliance Department, legal or accounting firm
Exposure in risk management, operational and controls orientated role preferably within an international firm, in the financial service industry
Personal integrity and good analytical and communication skills are essential since Senior Management need to be informed promptly and concisely of any areas of Compliance risk affecting the Bank.
Strong character and interpersonal skills are essential in persuading areas to develop a Compliance culture and consciousness and positioning Compliance as a supportive and business friendly service.
