An Investment Finance (IF) Specialist is a Lending Product Specialist within the Investment Finance business with "indirect" client coverage responsibility. In this capacity the IF Specialists works alongside the IF Transactor with primary responsibility to perform the analysis required for the credit approval of Citi Private Bank's core product range. IF Specialists are given the opportunity to season credit and marketing skills and over time may transition into an IF Transactor role. Alternatively, they may prefer to focus their career on the portfolio management aspects of the business. An IF Specialist may also be a Business Credit Officer and may also pursue the required career development and training to achieve the status of SCO.
Assisting in the marketing and sale of the full IF Product range through preparation of materials and maintenance of databases
Assist in the preparation of EDAC and Greenlight memos (as applicable)
In partnership with the IF Transactors, assist with the structuring and execution of more complex or tailored transactions, meeting Risk Acceptance Criteria
Full loan underwriting with appropriate risk return characteristics of Citi Private Bank's standard product range, ensuring appropriate compliance with Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standards
Preparation of Credit Applications ensuring accuracy and completeness of data
Financial Analysis including cash flow statements
Collateral Evaluation covering Marketable Securities, Property and other asset classes
[Preparing and negotiating credit documentation for facilities, including liaison with external counsel as required as well as undertaking the annual review of documentation]
Preparing and reviewing facility covenants
Assisting in Portfolio Management, including CA Annual reviews, covenant monitoring and compliance, waivers and extensions and all related system maintenance
Problem Recognition and assisting with classified loans remedial management
In summary this is a demanding role that provides the right individual with the opportunity to season credit and marketing skills and over time gain a full understanding of Citibank's Credit Policies and Procedures. It requires a strong mix of analytical and process skills and the ability to influence stakeholders, including Private Bankers, Risk, auditors or other areas of the Bank and to ensure processes meet the Bank's highest standards.
Strong Financial and cash flow modelling skills
Strong and proven analytical, credit structuring and execution skills
6-8 years' experience preferably in a Markets, Credit or Risk-related role covering ASEAN / India / Australia markets
Some marketing skills, balanced with strong credit skills (aspiring to be a full blown Transactor in 2-3 years)
Knowledge of Citibank's Credit Policies desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
Good negotiation skills
Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving
Displays flexibility and independence in a demanding environment
Knowledge of financial markets, investments, banking and loan products
