Director, Investment delivers an integrated approach and leads a team of investment dealers who deliver integrated and sophisticated financial solutions to high net worth clients. This position is responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of products that cater to the needs of private wealth advisors in order to meet the needs of clients. This role oversees the provision of private banking products to support the achievement of business goals through wealth management solutions developed for high net worth clients and prospects.
The Director collaborates with other businesses, e.g., Capital Markets in HK and Wealth Management in Singapore, in product development and enhancement. This position is also accountable for providing specialized coaching and mentoring of the private wealth advisers; the goal of this is to enhance their product and market knowledge.
Knowledge and Skills
University graduate with over 8 years of experience in private banking industry;
Extensive and in depth knowledge of overall Bank products, services, organization and interrelationships;
Understand and comply with regulatory requirements in accordance with Bank's policy and procedures;
CFP / CFA qualified is a plus;
Professional qualifications and Client Advisor Competency Standards (CACS)
Excellent selling, communication and interpersonal skills; Excellent people management skills;
Self-initiative and able to work under pressure;
Proactively looks for opportunities to contribute or support the effective and timely completion of ongoing work;
Flexible and resourceful and is able to work collaboratively with other team members;
The ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently with minimal supervision;
Accountabilities Business Development:
In conjunction with private wealth advisers attend client meetings and promote PB services;
Prepare and present investment proposals;
Offer input to develop new products. Contribute to the design, structuring and introduction of new investment products;
Identify current market trends and competitors' activities to evaluate the situation;
Keep the team informed of competition, market and client activities in Singapore and Asia;
Prepare business reports/records for the evaluation of business and market performance;
Participation in client events or seminars;
Source and maintain linkages with referral sources, e.g. banks, professional firms, immigration consultants, Consulate; and
Identify needs, present alternatives and refer opportunities to MD, Asia PB.
Superior Service to Advisers:
Formulate investment portfolios and assist advisers in advising clients according to their investment and risk tolerance. Ensure product suitability
Act on advisor's request and client feedback to construct ideal/model portfolios
Co-ordinate with relevant parties to gather and disseminate market information to advisors
Provide product training to Advisers and Support staff in investment advisory products and concepts
Provide investment advice and recommendations in relation to all major geographical markets
Responsible for quality and standard of all product idea work
Execute the trades to counterparties
Lead the team to oversight the day-to-day work, including trade execution, advisory and any issues related investment team in Singapore
Work close with HK investment team as one regional team for business
