About the Regulatory Management Group
In a period of ever-increasing regulatory scrutiny, Regulatory Management is critical to safeguarding the integrity and reputation of the Bank and ensuring that regulatory requirements are met. The Regulatory Management Group (RMG) was established to manage Deutsche Bank relationships with the US regulators across the Federal Reserve Bank, New York State Department of Financial Services, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Canadian Office of the Superintendent of Financial Services, Securities and Exchange Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc., and the CME Group, as well as various exchanges and central counterparties.
RMG partners with divisional functions and businesses to synchronize regulatory engagements and holistically manage supervisory initiatives with all of the regulators in the US. RMG's mission is to safeguard the integrity and reputation of the Bank, while promoting a culture of compliance with key supervisory and regulatory priorities, applicable rules and best practices.
RMG's key role is to manage and foster balanced and strategic regulatory relationships, coordinate and manage regulatory examinations, inquiries and remediation efforts, and communicate supervisory priorities.
The position offers you the opportunity to understand and contribute to the management of key relationships with regulators, support senior stakeholders throughout Deutsche Bank on priority regulatory topics, and carry out key controls to safeguard the firm and promote effective engagement with the regulators.
Roles & Responsibilities
The RMG Coordinator serves as relationship coordinator and direct partner to the Bank's onsite regulators, and certain offsite regulator specialists, from the various branches of the Federal Reserve Board System and others, including:
Reviewing regulatory requests, confirming deliverables and time lines, discerning regulators' priorities and expectations, and communicating them to key internal stakeholders
Coordinating and escalating daily continuous monitoring activities
Coordinating and monitoring direct targeted examinations
Maintaining effective prioritization of regulatory demands and strategic delivery of responses to regulators in the face of completing goals, obligations, and responsibilities of each business area
Maintaining quality control over the Regulatory Management Group brand, reviewing materials submitted by internal stakeholders for quality, consistency, and alignment with examiner expectations
You need to have:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong time-management and organizational skills, 'attention to detail'
PowerPoint skills for preparing presentations to RMG and other stakeholders, e.g., Deutsche Bank USA Board of Directors
The ability to manipulate and manage data in Excel, Access, SharePoint, and other Microsoft products, and also Deutsche Bank's Global Finding Management System
You need to be able to:
Set and maintain quality control over the Regulatory Management Group brand
Pick up quickly and drive ad hoc projects
Preferred Qualities Include:
Previous relevant work experience within the banking / financial services industry
A solid knowledge of financial markets and risk management, including program coordination
Having an interest in the financial markets and businesses that Deutsche Bank engages in, as well as the desire to understand the front-to-back impact of regulatory reform
Desired Experience Includes:
Negotiation and relationship management
Knowledge of Deutsche Bank's organizational structure, business lines, policies, and procedures, and the Bank's Systems is also a plus
Strong business writing skills are preferred, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and convincingly
Ability to prioritize across multiple programs and stakeholders
You should be highly motivated, with strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
You should possess the ability to follow through independently
