Vessel Operations & Trade Execution – Grains (Singapore), Dry Bulk Asia – Singapore, Salary – Highly competitive – Global Trading Company – MNC
Job Purpose: To execute trading and vessel operations in Singapore reporting to the trading and chartering teams. The incumbent will help assist with the overall processes of the Asia trading team in terms of execution according to the annual plan and the policies of the company. To achieve the growth and profit objectives as well as to maintain and further develop the business within the region. This role also involves coordinating with other team members in Singapore, as well as their global offices to further develop the department with training and implementing key performance standards to help grow and enhance output.
Assist with the terms of charter parties agreement and communication to owners, agents, stevedores, suppliers, buyers and the like.
Review and maintain coverage database with insurance company for the charterer's liability coverage.
Essentials to have expertise with shipping documents – charter party, bills of lading, statement of facts, laytime calculation.
Monitoring and manage voyage chartered vessels for dry bulk.
Ensure a high level of service delivery to the commercial teams.
Ensure that the final contracts entered into are commercially viable and protect the company from risk.
Ensure the timely administration of all documents to ensure a timely delivery and smooth clearance of all goods in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Manage assigned Account to build close relationships ensuring a smooth and efficient order fulfilment process.
Drive best practices in operations across Asia.
Minimum of 3-5+ years of operations experience preferably bulk vessel operations or bulk commodities trade execution/operations.
Knowledge and experience of import and export trade and understand International Trade practices and regulations.
Understanding shipping terms, letter of credits(L/C) and general trade terms.
Must possess strong negotiating skills, commercial awareness, be strategic and innovative.
Fluent in written and spoken English is a must, a second Asian language will be a strong plus.
Customer/supplier focused and willing to work under pressure.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
