Team Profile: Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong Java Developer to help build out our Quantitative and Structured Products platforms. You will work closely with fellow Technologists, and our partners in Sales and Trading, Strategists and Financial Engineering to design, build and support systems, and generally improve automation, performance and time to market for technology changes for this major growth business area for the investment bank.
You will work within a highly focused tech team in London, within a global technology department delivering for the main trading areas: New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Beyond the delivery for the functional aspects of the systems and business flows, candidates will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving the technology platform and drive the system towards a more rapid and robust development and deployment model across the tech stack, to ultimately help the business sustain high volume and revenue growth. This is a hands-on role with the expectation to own a change or project all the way from design/inception to delivery in production.
The local and the global team will support you in getting up to speed with the relevant knowledge areas, business or otherwise, you will need and ultimately help you grow your career within an exciting technology group focused at helping the business stay market leaders for years to come.
Experience in core Java knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Track record of complete lifecycle management including design, coding and delivery.
Track record working with and managing multiple dependencies across systems.
Experience in equity-linked products / derivatives is desirable but can be learnt within the team.
Experience with Java/GC/Linux OS level debugging/performance tuning.
kdb/q knowledge would also be an advantage but is not essential.
Experience in testing automation.
Interest and experience in metrics/analytics to take the understanding of the flows and pricing data to the next level with our businesses would also be a plus.
Interest in continuously improving development and release processes productivity (agile/devops)
