The fixed income product management group at Wellington works closely with our fixed income investment teams, our global relationship group and business colleagues around the firm. Our fixed income investors span a wide range of disciplines, geographies, industries, market capitalizations, and styles. Our clients are located around the world.
The product management function has three main objectives:
Product Development and Marketing Product management contributes to client growth and retention by assessing business opportunities and leading business planning, developing new products and investment solutions, creating the communication strategy for the book of business, including materials that differentiate the product relative to competitors and acting as a subject matter expert and portfolio representative for colleagues, clients and consultants. Investment Integrity and Risk Management We act as an independent advisor to ensure the integrity of the investment and risk management processes, as well as consistency with client parameters and objectives, conduct regular product risk and performance attributions reviews and contribute to formal Investment Review Group processes Business Management We contribute to business management, including managing risk, capacity, pricing and guidelines, lead resolution of internal business challenges and collaborate on product management business to share investment integrity, marketing and product development best practices.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A Product Management Analyst is a member of a product management team, led by an Investment Director. He/she works closely with the Investment Director(s), investment teams, and business professionals to contribute to efforts centered on reviewing and evaluating the integrity of our fixed income approaches, positioning approaches for success in the marketplace, and helping to manage business challenges such as capacity, fees and guidelines associated with portfolios under coverage.
Responsibilities include performing analyses related to portfolio positioning and attribution, market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing. Additional responsibilities may include creation and maintenance of marketing and client materials, review of RFPs, responses to client questions, automation of workflow, and collaboration on development of client solutions and new investment approaches.
The Product Management Analyst role in Fixed Income Product Management requires demonstrated knowledge of portfolio and market analysis in combination with a passion for fixed income investing. We seek individuals that possess the analytical skills and ability to organize and interpret investment data to reach conclusions as well as effective verbal and written communication skills. A positive, collegial attitude and high level of professionalism are essential, as is initiative and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with tight deadlines.
Further, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
3-5 years industry experience, preferably in a relevant capacity
Working knowledge of fixed income markets
Strong academic track record and demonstrated quantitative and numerical analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
Creativity, thoroughness, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize
Work towards MBA and/or CFA is desirable
