The GFCC Specialist, under supervision, assists Global Financial Crimes Compliance executives and managers, conducts independent Sanctions Risk Management SME in the region. The role holder is responsible for the execution of risk management responsibilities in areas such as; Sanctions risk assessments, issues management, monitoring and testing from a Sanctions compliance perspective. The GFCC Specialist contributes to the identification of themes and trends at the front line unit, control function and enterprise level. This role is an individual contributor in the Sanctions Risk Management function.
Provide advisory on Trade, Economic and Financial Sanctions, global risk management framework to meet legislative and regulatory requirements on a regional basis
Responsible for managing sanctions compliance risk matters and mitigating controls in periodic reviews and relevant Management Reports
Maintaining, updating and identifying enhancements for sanctions lists and controls
Ensure all actions have been properly documented with regards to any investigations review
Verify counterpart sanctions related activity
Support projects as directed by the Head of Sanctions or Senior Management
Opine on Global Sanctions process improvements
Participate in various system and application testing
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to Sanctions risk including regulators, internal and external auditors, and competent authorities with the Group
Building strong partnership with business to drive and accelerate the execution of Financial Crime Compliance Sanctions programmes within the region that directly impact business performance
Stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and implement appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes
Participate in and work with relevant regional and country industry bodies and groups in relation to Sanctions related initiatives, trends and proposals
Provide advice to business across various Line of Businesses in Hong Kong on risk associated with prospective business, products and service and design mitigation controls and implement strategies as appropriate
At least 5 years relevant experience in Sanctions or Financial Crimes Compliance in general gained from working in global financial institutions.
AML / Advisory background
Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Preferred candidates with understanding of business, markets and products: FICC, FX Equities and commodities
Ability to handle multiple compliance projects in a dynamic environment and regional team setting.
Great business stakeholder management and communication skills.
