Role: The APAC KYC Risk Quality Control team acts as an independent team responsible for identifying potential quality issues, breaks in controls and process improvement opportunities in the execution of reviews performed by Risk Process Analysts.
Risk Process Analysts are responsible for performing reviews of Name Screening alerts (i.e., Senior Public Figures, Watch Lists, Adverse Media) as set forth in the Global AML Know Your Customer Policy and Global AML Name Screening Standard.
The APAC KYC Risk Quality Control team is responsible for ensuring analysts adhere to defined quality standards and core competencies including, but not limited to: proper research and analysis of alerts, complete documentation of alert analysis and correct disposition of alerts as well as adherence to Citi's Policies, Standards and Procedural requirements.
Performing Quality Control (QC) reviews on Risk Process reviews performed by Global KYC Risk Process Analysts and documenting results
Conducting root-cause analyses on QC review results to recommend remedial or follow-up actions to Risk Process M anagers and Team Leads
Critically and objectively assessing QC review results to identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats for Risk Process reviews
Providing regular and constructive feedback regarding Risk Process Analyst performance to Risk Process Managers and Team Leads
Documenting QC reviews and comments in the QC database
Tracking QC review results and remedial actions in the QC database
Assisting with the development and reporting of QC review metrics for distribution to Risk Process Managers, Team Leads, analysts and other designated personnel
Participation in calibration sessions within the QC team
Supporting coaching efforts of Risk Process Analysts, as requested
Completing special projects, as needed
· Four-year college degree or equivalent experience · 2+ years of experience in AML Compliance preferably related to KYC, Name Screening or Sanctions · Experience in a financial institution with specific experience in AML Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering including the · Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML guidelines and · OFAC requirements · Knowledgeable of Senior Public Figures, Money Service Businesses, · Correspondent Banks and Nonbank Financial Institutions · Established business knowledge and comprehension of financial products · and services · Highly motivated, self-starter capable of working independently, without supervision · Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills · Strong research, analytical and writing skills as well as the ability to understand and draw conclusions from research · Must be able to multi-task, follow up on tasks and complete projects on time · Strong attention to detail · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook · Proficiency in second language a plus, but not required
