Focused on developing/critiquing independent product valuation methodologies for derivatives of rates/equity and credit and structure notes in Global Banking & Markets.
Responsibilities may include:
Calculation (towards automation) of liquidity, model and other valuation adjustments as specified in the XVA valuation control procedures
Clearly document and communicate results to team members and senior management
The candidate should possess a broad knowledge of financial markets and products with a quantitative background suitable for critically evaluating the results of control procedures applied
Communicate opinions to senior management - the Global Valuation Group is often called upon by senior management to summarize all valuation and control issues of the products and businesses
Put systematic pricing processes in place for the products - these processes need to be set up in such a manner that they can be replicated over periods, give the ability to compare results with prior periods, and be doable by more than one member of the team (backups are critical)
Produce high-quality work product - all price review work must be well documented if in a presentation form or other written form and well organized and clear if in other forms such as spreadsheets
Work must be presented to the candidate's manager in a clear and concise format
Seek improvement in existing processes - once a process is put in place, it should be continually refined
All processes must be self-audited on a regular basis, and this audit should make clear to management where improvements are needed, suggestions for solving the weakness, and expected timeframes to put improvements in place
Required skills :
10 years of experience in financial industry
Analytical and programming skills - deep understanding of pricing mechanism behind credit products and exotic derivatives and the respective CVA/FVA/UMR
At least 5 years of hands-on experience on programming languages like, VBA/C/C++/Python
Must be very skillful with Excel
Product and regulatory knowledge - extensive knowledge on financial market and products, especially on exotics on rates/equity/commodity, risky bonds, CDS, CDO, callable loan, muni derivatives, structure notes, etc
Good understanding of FAS 157 and Volker rules
Excellent communicator - senior management expects that GVG will be able to communicate opinions both in writing and verbally
Must clearly demonstrate the ability to logically present a given argument in written form as well as being able to articulate a given opinion concisely
Master's Degree in math, engineering, or other quantitative discipline is a must
A team player must be highly self-motivated and take ownership
Must interact with partners within the firm from a variety of groups/disciplines
