The Role / Responsibilities: The VP - Investor Relations is part of the team that represents and communicates Moody's business performance and outlook to the investment community. This role has substantial contact with current and potential shareholders and bondholders, equity research analysts, as well as Moody's senior management, and will interact with all areas of Moody's. § Coordinate with various internal groups to gather relevant financial, issuance and macroeconomic analysis and commentary in support of informal and formal investor communications, including for Moody's quarterly earnings calls and investor presentations, as well as the annual Investor Day event. § Develop and maintain expertise on Moody's businesses, key business drivers, strategic priorities, competitive landscape, etc., through information gathered from both internal and external sources, discussions with management and other employees. § Coordinate the production of IR-related material presented to the Moody's Board of Directors. § Serve as a primary IR point of contact for shareholders (as appropriate) and equity analysts. § Participate in investor marketing with senior management, as needed. § Attend IR industry conferences and other events to gather, analyze and recommend IR best practices for potential implementation at Moody's. Manage, mentor and develop junior members of the IR team.
The Department / Team Investor Relations has strategic management responsibility to enable the most effective two-way communication between a company, the financial community, and other constituencies. Moody's Investor Relations team oversees shareholder meetings, press relations, shareholder relations and briefings, sections of Moodys.com and the company annual report
MBA, CPA or advanced degree in finance preferred; BA/BS degree required.
At least 8 years of business experience, with demonstrated expertise in a finance function or analytical and communications experience within the financial services industry (e.g., equity research or investor relations experience preferred).
Excellent quantitative and communication skills (verbal and written).
Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and manage workstreams across various levels, departments and geographies.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Professional demeanor, integrity and sound judgement; must be able to manage highly sensitive information in confidence and with discretion.
Robust knowledge of capital markets.
§ Strong PC skills, especially MS Powerpoint and Excel, and ability to learn and adapt to other technologies as required.
