You will be acting as a lawyer in the team responsible for supporting Credit Suisse's Investment Banking and Capital Markets (IBCM) division in Asia-Pacific, and be involved in activities undertaken across the region, with a focus on Southeast Asia and South Asia
You would provide legal advice with respect to our IBCM business, comprising corporate advisory / M&A, debt capital markets and equity capital markets. This includes assistance in preparing, reviewing and negotiating engagement letters and indemnities, confidentiality undertakings and transaction-specific documentation (in conjunction with external counsel where relevant)
You would provide assistance and advice on legal issues arising out of activities undertaken by the IBCM franchise
You will engage with and lead external counsel (including review of legal documentation and opinions, etc.)
You will help to supervise support provided to IBCM business by paralegals in Pune
Working closely with IBCM CCRO, APAC Control Room and with peers in the General Counsel division teams (both within and outside of the region) as appropriate (including for example, participation in new business initiatives)
Providing timely escalation of matters requiring senior input and approval efc-ags1
You have excellent written and oral communications skills, excellent drafting skills
You have good working knowledge and familiarity with securities laws and the legal/regulatory regime applicable to IBCM activities in Asia-Pacific
You have prior experience working on IBCM transactions involving multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Southeast Asia and South Asia
You are experienced with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments. And are capable of effectively managing external counsel
You are effective in partnering with various business lines and operational areas to deliver legal services. Ability to prioritize matters effectively
You are dedicated and possess the initiative to drive projects and matters forward to resolution
