This role sits within the COO Office. Specifically in a function that delivers oversight, control and cost management across the GBM Transformation Portfolio for GBM.
The role holder will review efficiencies and oversee/direct/track/report progress on the holistic portfolio of transformation projects within GBM covering the 3 Pillars from the Group's perspective and all Regulatory Change from a GBM perspective:
The Portfolio Management Group supports the GBM COO in enabling effective change investment prioritisation decisions, monitoring the value being realised by those investments and the status of their execution. The role holder must work closely with GBM Change initiatives and Sub-Portfolio Managers to monitor how well key change initiatives are aligned to GBM strategy including supporting / assessing the transparency of financial and non-financial benefits as well as execution status, identifying and tracking portfolio risks, issues and dependencies.
In addition the role holder will establish the reporting standards provided across the GBM portfolio, with particular reference to the Group's 'Business Transformation Framework' and the financial reporting produced currently for CTB by both GBM and HOST finance. They will initiate and maintain GBM reporting frameworks that allow for effective cost and status reporting that can facilitate prioritisation decisions and also
The role holder will also assist the Global Head of GBM Business Transformation with their responsibilities for overseeing, directing and ensuring the effectiveness of the delivery of the GBM change programme across the business lines and technology, in accordance with the GBM business strategy, target operating model and relevant GBM change portfolio tools and techniques.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with senior stakeholders, third party consultants and technical experts across the entire bank
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, coupled with proven experience working in a matrixed management structure, building and maintaining global team relationships
Ability to clearly articulate programmes of work to not limited to Management, Teams, Consultants and SMEs whilst managing/interpreting the deliverables and translating theory into practice
Outstanding track record for successful delivery of significant and complex transformation and teams (likely to be experienced in delivery of multi-year programmes with budgets in excess of $100m) within a complex, global financial organisation
Ability to transition easily from conceptualising/defining the high level strategy and target business model, to providing guidance in defining the bottoms-up target operating model, understanding the details on products, technological and operational implications in delivering transformation
Strong knowledge of Financial Services industry and offerings in particular within the International Banking space
Ability to re-engineer the end-to-end business processes to gain efficiency and to better support the strategic objectives
Detailed and demonstrable knowledge of end-to-end programme life cycle: business analysis, business and technical process change, test management, implementation and production transition
Strong strategic planning and execution skills, including business case development and benefits realisation
Ability to oversee a portfolio of projects, report on progress and align the step change in the strategic journey
Very strong analytical and facilitation skills to ensure business needs and effective solutions can be quickly and clearly defined
Proven team building and leadership capabilities (likely to have experience of leading global programmes with +100 FTE) operating within a matrix organisation
