Legal The mission of the Legal department is to ensure that legal services are provided to Deutsche Bank with the goals of protecting the integrity and reputation of the Bank; managing legal risk to make transactions viable and safe and partnering with Risk, Compliance, Audit and others to provide a proactive integrated risk management approach.
Your role will be to provide legal support primarily for Cash Equities and Global Prime Finance clients (Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, Investment Managers, Broker-Dealers, Sovereign Wealth Funds) in Asia-Pacific jurisdictions. You should be able to handle negotiations and understand concepts around the Markets Prime Finance business (prime brokerage, stock loan, swaps, cash trading) and negotiate Equity Master Documentation (ISDA/CSA) with such clients. The role requires interfacing between the legal and front office team in Hong Kong and Deutsche Bank's near shoring legal team in Mumbai. You should be prepared to help assist in training negotiators in Deutsche Bank and then continue to provide mentorship to the team and assist in supervising/guiding their interaction with Deutsche Bank's business and clients.
Liaising and coordinating with HK legal, risk and other internal divisions of the bank such as business, compliance, finance, operations, tax, as necessary.
Providing training and guidance to others on the team in relation to work, performance and development.
Drafting and negotiating amongst others, Prime Brokerage Agreement, ISDA Master Agreement ( International Swaps and Derivatives Association ), Credit Support documents, Master Netting Agreements, Futures and Options Agreements, Securities Lending Agreements and all other relevant documentation and subsequent amendments.
You will have:
Law Degree or Commonwealth qualified solicitor or barrister with more than 8 years of PQE in financial products or commercial contracts drafting and negotiations. (Previous capital markets or general corporate experience gained in a law firm or in-house will be an advantage.)
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent legal drafting ability and eye for detail.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem solving and / or analytical skills with solution based approach.
Ability to be a team player and provide support to the Deutsche Bank Mumbai near shoring legal team.
