We currently have a full time open term opportunity for a proactive Responsible Investment Strategist to join QIC's in Brisbane. Reporting to the Head of Responsible Investment, you will work on RI/ESG initiatives across all QIC asset classes globally, including multi-assets, liquid strategies, private equity, infrastructure and real estate. In the role, you will assist in the development, implementation and measurement and reporting of QIC's Responsible Investment Policy.
This role will also cover QIC's undertakings as a United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) signatory and involves researching, analysing and monitoring ESG issues across QIC's portfolios. You will be required to have an understanding of environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities impacting QIC's investments. Initially working in partnership with the Head of RI you will develop into a strong carrier of ESG initiatives and manage your own portfolio of responsibilities.
QIC requires a pragmatic approach to ESG integration in line with QIC's and its client's objectives. You will play a critical role in shaping RI/ESG initiatives and use your strong written skills to formulate reports, whilst building communication collateral and ensuring ESG is incorporated into all sales and marketing material and reflected in investment product development.
As well as your technical expertise in ESG matters, this role spans across all investment sectors which will require you to develop strong relationships with the investment teams, sales, marketing and product development teams, corporate services and externally - UNPRI and other regional and international organisations.
The Ideal Candidate
As a strong candidate for this role, you will have at least 3 years in responsible investments ideally within superannuation/institutional investment sector with a strong understanding of environmental, social and governance issues and how it relates to investments.
You must also be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of climate change and investment impacts.
You will have strengths in written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and proactively but also work collaboratively within a high partnership environment.
A degree in a related discipline e.g. finance, law, economics, business, environmental science would be an advantage.
Knowledge of investment and asset management and preferably experience in asset manager or asset owner environment would be well regarded.
