Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Insurance Risk Manager.
Oversight of new product initiatives, for both manufacturing and non manufacturing products prior to launch.
Oversight of controls and risk mitigating actions in relation to new and repriced products.
Liaise with Group Insurance on product initiatives with wider risk and capital implication for the region.
Oversight of reinsurance arrangement to ensure alignment with risk appetite, return objectives, capital usage and control exposure against mandates.
Oversight of underwriting in accordance with the risk appetite and risk mandate agreed.
Monitor insurance and product related risks against the risk appetite of the group.
Extensive years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
Actuarial qualification. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
Deep understanding of various aspects of an insurance business, with strong understanding of insurance products and the processes associated with their development, pricing and distribution.
Robust understanding of actuarial work
Ability to assess risk trends, both internally and externally
Strong analytical skills
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Bachelors degree in actuarial science, mathematics or related subject
