Treasury Services Senior Product Manager - Trade Finance and Services

Treasury Services teams work to maximize client portfolio value using custom products and services that provide in-depth analyses of transactions, assets and funds based on client needs and requirements. Investment Services groups include Alternative Investment Services, Asset Servicing, Broker-Dealer Services, Corporate Trust , Depositary Receipts, Pershing and Treasury Services. Some functional roles include: Fund Accounting, Financial Reporting, Portfolio Accounting, Derivatives Operations and Fund Administration.
The Treasury Services Senior Product Manager is the most senior individual contributor, managing new product development, product enhancements, product delivery, market strategy, pricing, in collaboration with the Treasury Services Sales & Relationship Officers, Risk, Compliance & Legal, Operations and Technology.
This position will directly manage the product pricing and profitability of most complex and challenging products and product tasks regionally and/or globally in the complex regulatory environment for cash management.
In addition to Trade Finance and Services, other Treasury Services products include: US Dollar, EURO, GBP direct clearing services, Multicurrency Wire Transfer, Enterprise Payment Hub Correspondent Banking, US& International ACH and Network Management, Payables (Disbursements/Account Reconciliation /Check Issuance), Receivables and Asset Account Services.
The Senior Product Manager, working in concert with sales and relationship officers, will support calling efforts with presentations and as subject matter experts to close deals as needed.
The incumbent will manage the overall revenue and profitability goals for assigned products. The senior product manager is directly responsible for the capital and operating budget for products assigned to the product line. They are also directly responsible for pricing authority and profitability for the products managed.
He/She will indirectly manage, mentor and coach associate, product managers, analysts and Treasury Services sales/relationship officers.
The Treasury Services range of Trade products include:
- Traditional Trade products including Letters of Credit, Reimbursement, Import and Export Collection.
- Open Account Solutions
- Various Trade Finance and Loan instruments.
- Private label and Outsourcing solution.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the assigned product's strategy, development and delivery. The role integrates the demands, risks and competition in a variety of markets domestically and/or globally to develop and enhance Trade products providing business solutions for BNY Mellon clients. The position is directly responsible for the product profitability for the assigned Treasury Services Trade products. These may be varied and range from large primary solutions to complex and global within the suite of services and products offered by Treasury Services to their markets (e.g. large corporations, Banks & Financial Institutions) and across regions (e.g. EMEA, APAC, NorAm, LatAm) . Working in concert with sales and relationship officers, the senior product manager supports the Treasury Services Sales calling effort, presentations and assists with closing deals on an as needed basis. Champions a global or regional presence and expertise for its products and promotes Product, and Bank-wide strategies through speaking engagements, published articles and leadership visibility in the industry. This position deals with diverse objectives for products delivered via multiple processing centers/systems to diverse markets. The position guides and develops; coach/mentors a staff of Product Managers and/or Product Analysts.
Functional and Business Knowledge/Expertise

Leads the promotion of managed products through speaking engagements, published articles, and leadership visibility in the industry
Over 8 years' experience in Product development, including determining market needs, launching complex products that require multi-functional teams across Ops and technology as well as identifying and mitigating appropriate Risks by working with internal Risk and Compliance
A track record of running projects/programs with over 8 years of experience managing complex multi discipline programs and projects with ability to manage virtual staff cross function, globally This role present projects at a senior level
Experience with financial services business processes and complex systems infrastructure. Thorough understanding of systems/operational development and implementation interfaces. This role manages people directly and crosses functionally
Vision and Strategy
Ability to understand market trends, client needs and product set and to translate this knowledge into a well thought out product strategy. Focus is on multiple products
Ability to price a variety of products and understand customer financial requirements
Leads the effort to comply with all risk and compliance related activities included presentation to CARL, BAC, BRC, OFAC and AMLOC as needed
Industry and Competitive knowledge
Broad and thorough knowledge of the financial services industry and detailed knowledge of the specific products of responsibility
o Strong and detailed problem solving skills required including the management of large, complex projects with multiple work streams and project teams. Prioritizing objectives required in order to meet fast paced demands and deadlines
Nature and Area of Impact
o The senior product manager analyzes and articulates on behalf of the business. The role is tactical/strategic and cross-functional with interactions with internal and external clients.
o Excellent ability to influence and collaborate across a broad spectrum of managers including mid- level to senior level managers.
o Exemplary communication, team building skills with experience with virtual teams, comfortable with at senior levels organizationally including internal and external client managers.
Minimum Education: Master's (preferred) or BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Marketing or Mathematics
Preferred Qualification: Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) credential preferred
Minimum Experience: Over 10 years of financial services, operations or project management experience.
Preferred Experience: 4 years supervisory level with strong team building skills
Excellent communication skills and polished speaking skills.
Strong assimilation skills dealing with multi-variable projects.
Strong business planning skills and project management experience.
Demonstrated analytic, financial and market planning and consultative selling skills. Ability to work as part of a team.
Computer skills along with experience in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and word are required.
