About The Role As an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Research Manager, you will be responsible for implementing a Responsible Investment (RI) framework to incorporate ESG considerations into the investment management process within Wealth Australia.
Your key focus will be to create and implement the Wealth Australia ESG approach through (1) responsive engagement and oversight of our external managers under mandate with regards to compliance with our ESG policy; (2) utilise specialist ESG information systems or sources to produce quality management reporting of portfolio ESG characteristics including our carbon footprint; (3) manage the setting and operation of the Proxy Voting policy to ensure effective stewardship; and (4) as the ESG/responsible investment subject matter expert for Chief Investment Officer (CIO) represent the Pensions and Investments (P&I) business unit and Wealth Australia's interests to relevant management and Board forums, as well as to other stakeholders within ANZ and the wealth management industry. Through ongoing monitoring of regulatory requirements and industry trends, you will be accountable to the CIO Management Team to provide strategic insights and support to ensure Wealth Australia's responsible investment approach matures and develops to meet future requirements. You will also work in conjunction with CIO Governance and Communication team to ensure all reference policies, procedures and public information regarding our ESG approach is accurate and compliant with relevant regulations.

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Strong successful Investment Management or Finance industry experience undertaking ESG research or implementing governance on ESG and/or climate change related topics
Clearly demonstrates appreciation of the relevant legal, risk and regulatory requirements applicable to the investment management industry from ESG perspective including climate change
Proven presentation skills - both verbal and written, and also communication and influencing experience with senior stakeholders to implement organisational and behavioural wide strategies
Able to demonstrate a solid understanding or first-hand experience of embedding ESG factor considerations into an investment management process
Relevant experience in corporate responsibility and/or responsible investment, and a demonstrable passion for sustainable development. Conversant with relevant international trends
Ability to communicate, promote and implement organisational and behavioural wide strategies associated with ESG or climate change related themes
