Your role Are you a motivated self starter? Do you have a keen eye for the finer details? We're looking for someone like this to:
- take responsibility for the APAC parameter review methodology for automated trade surveillance activities. Lead the parameter review and calibration of automated controls such as SMARTS and Actimize across APAC to ensure effectiveness of framework. - lead the team in conducting deep dive analysis and trading patterns investigation to assist the business/ stakeholders in managing risks. - conduct risk assessment to identify gaps in the surveillance framework which considered internal/external factors such as nature of the business, volume or regulatory developments in various markets. - be the point of contact for SMARTS vendor and to take the lead in system enhancements and resolving SMARTS IT related issues. - take responsibility for APAC trade surveillance annual training plan and conduct relevant training sessions covering APAC locations including coaching to trade surveillance team across APAC. - lead/ participate in the implementation of strategic department projects including global and regional initiatives. - lead/ participate in the UAT for new initiatives/ for new markets. - assist and support various audits and regulatory queries. - support the local team in performing daily trade surveillance review (incl. SMARTS alerts) for the assigned market and ensure that findings are fully investigated and promptly escalated where necessary.

Your team You will be part of the APAC Monitoring, Surveillance & Controls team. As the Monitoring & Surveillance Officer at UBS, you will be based at Singapore location and execute 2nd Line of Defense through its automated monitoring facilities. The SMARTS Trade Surveillance is part of that and will now be further extended in line with the Bank's strategic centralization objectives.
Your experience and skills You have: - several years of relevant work experience either within Compliance or a Regulatory Authority - in depth Equities and related Derivatives product knowledge (Fixed Income, Rates and Credit is a plus) - the ability to identify suspicious trade patterns
You are: - able to prioritize conflicting tasks, identifying what is essential and focusing on such - a proactive self-starter who is able to work independently - confident and comfortable to question current state behavior - able to articulate findings and to document such effectively
