You'll play an important part in setting up a first line stress testing function within the NatWest Markets Resource Management team

What you'll do
NatWest Markets are standing up a new first line stress testing function to sit within the existing Resource Management team, and this role is a chance to contribute to support its delivery. Key aspects of your role will include:
Developing an in-depth understanding of stress testing methodology in one of the key pillars of credit risk, market risk or operational risk, and supporting the production of regular stress tests
Building a deep understanding of how the NatWest Markets portfolio responds under different stress scenarios and produce analysis to inform the business
Identifying and analysing risks with the potential to cause stress to different resources, and using them to develop relevant stress scenarios
Producing bespoke analysis on the key drivers of stress
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline - such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or similar - and previous experience working with statistical models. You'll have a successful history of working independently on difficult problems and coming up with novel solutions, as well as the ability to design and implement new models. While not essential previous experience in a risk management or a stress testing role is preferred, with hands on experience in market, credit or operational risk. We'll also expect:
Proficiency in Excel the ability to work with large quantities of data
A base understanding of the different products that investment bank trade, their risks and the types of clients they service
A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to pick up new concepts and think abstractly about problems
Some coding experience in Python, Matlab, R or VBA would be an advantage, as would knowledge of web development languages and environments, and the ability to work with user dashboards and large datasets.
