Profile Summary: Risk Manager - Investment Lending supports the Investment secured Portfolio for GCB and IPB businesses. Singapore Consumer Investment lending portfolio is the largest internationally and covers both MSBF (Margin Lending) and Insurance Premium Finance products. This critical risk role leads a team of people and primarily responsible for managing Portfolio risk, mark to market and Credit/regulatory reporting. The role involves regular interaction with Sales/Relationship Manager, Business heads, Credit Operations, Operations and Technology functions, Regional/Global risk management including Co-ordination with One Citi Credit Risk functions in Private Banking Business. The position reports to Country Risk Manager, Singapore in the Citi Singapore Ltd Consumer Risk Management team. Key Functions include:
Responsible for managing and leading risk management & supervising implementation of risk policies for Margin lending, currency trading as well as Insurance Premium financing business. Evaluate credit change requests and new product proposals and provide recommendation in line with Global policies
Support profitable growth of the business while maintaining adequate control and balancing risk and reward
Responsible for large ticket underwriting as well as tight margin monitoring to minimise credit losses
Evaluate complex financial instruments for lending purpose based on price volatility, liquidity
Responsible to ensure accurate and timely regulatory and other credit reporting
Co-ordinate new system development for the business
Ensure adequate staffing, backup and quality of the team to ensure smooth operations. Ensure talents are retained, team is motivated and successors are groomed. Provide adequate training to team members and other functional stakeholders.
Ensure satisfactory rating in audits through proactive actions and ensure all recommendations are implemented
Analytical skill and ability to interpret MIS and continuously upgrade on the same through automation. Lead technology upgrades, enhance automation. Contribute to system changes, testing stages for system cutovers impacting Investment Secured Lending product
Assist other consumer MSBF businesses in portfolio growth through success sharing.
Ideal candidate will have a Finance/Math/Stat/Engg. degree holder with at least 10-15 years of work experience in risk and/or credit Operations/Private Banking
Knowledge of wealth management, understanding of global financial market and dynamics of financial instruments are critical for the role
Good communication skill (verbal and written) and able to interact well with risk management, Business seniors as well as internal auditors and external regulators. Ability to convince others through knowledge, analysis and communication skill is key requirement for the role.

Must have the skills to build, train, retain and lead a team and ability / experience to provide stable guidance and leadership during market stress
Good Analytical skills, understanding in programming knowledge, experience on large ticket underwriting will be desirable
