Job Title: Lead Business Advisory Corporate Title: Director Division: Regulation, Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime Location: London
You will be reporting to the United Kingdom (UK) Head of Compliance, and working as a member of the Asset Management (AM) UK Compliance team. You will be responsible for assisting in the provision of Business Line Compliance advisory support to the Alternative Businesses within AM and you will assist in managing the UK Alternatives Compliance team.
Developing products linked to alternative investment strategies including appropriateness, reputational risk and distribution considerations
Advising on governance and conduct related topics in respect of both closed and open-ended fund structures and providing fund compliance support
Providing ad hoc advice on regulatory and general issues that relate to a broad range of compliance-related issues, including Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS) and Market In Financial Instrumentals Directive (MiFID) II rules
Keeping up-to-date with regulatory developments, understanding how these affect AM and partner the business in implementing any required amendments
Working effectively as part of a global team network to provide support and maintain insight into the product and services offered, maintaining a globally consistent approach
Engaging colleagues throughout the AM Compliance team, other units within Regulation, Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) and Deutsche Bank to facilitate execution of goals and exchange of best practices
Attending internal and external committees covering Alternatives
Preparing and delivering training sessions within the Bank, including induction training for new joiners and one-to-one training initiatives
Interacting with Legal and outside counsel to clarify regulatory and legal matters, as required
Completing compliance assessments, control frameworks and regulatory inspections and investigations
Skills & Qualifications:
Working knowledge of compliance in alternative funds, broader compliance and regulatory matters
Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience (experience or knowledge of financial markets and the current regulatory structure in Europe is beneficial)
Prior experience of Alternatives, AIFMD, the distribution of funds and team management
Demonstrable ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders and colleagues
Ability to generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo, whilst consistently achieving high quality outputs within tight deadlines
A positive, collaborative and flexible approach required to operate in a constantly changing environment
An extremely organised, diligent and structured approach to all work with an ability to manage a number of different projects simultaneously and pro-actively
Capability of interpreting, understanding, advising upon and formulating an appropriate course of action on a broad range of legal and regulatory provisions
Ability to analyse legal, regulatory and reputational risk, escalating matters to the appropriate management level as required
