The HSBC Luxembourg Risk Function is in charge of the anticipation, identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of all the risks to which the Luxembourg Businesses are or may be exposed. In order to strengthen our Risk team, we are looking to recruit a:
Luxembourg Country ISR Head Permanent Contract
Reporting to the Luxembourg Country Chief Risk Officer, the role holder will have to lead the Information Security Risk team of HSBC in Luxembourg which provides support for information security related matters. The role holder is expected to be a key member of the Country Risk team and partner with Businesses on Information Risk related matters.
This role is designated as "Information Security Officer" as per CSSF circular 12/552.
Role and Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to protect the HSBC brand by directing and providing overall leadership to the technology organisation to assure integrity, security and reliability of data for business use. This includes:
Defining and directing implementation of enterprise-wide security architecture and security controls for the technology infrastructure and business applications.
Offering professional risk assessment and expert advice to help business make informed decisions in risk mitigation.
Ensuring there is effective management of all types of information risk within Luxembourg, working with external regulators and other bodies, as required, on all information security related matters
Maintaining constant engagement with the Group and Regional ISR to effectively leverage the Group knowledge and resources in addressing Luxembourg specific challenges
Professional Skills and Experience;
Have an expert and extensive knowledge of Information Security Risk and Operational Risk to face off appropriately to the different risk managers in Luxembourg, the HSBC Regional hub or HSBC Group and also external parties.
Experience in dealing with complex matters by adopting a pragmatic approach, identifying core requirements from both a security and a business perspective and translating them into simplified activities that address the problem.
Experience in Information Security Risk management processes
Understanding of the Risk characteristics of key products and channels.
A change agent who is not afraid to change the status quo in order to drive ISR strategy.
Be able to implement a vision and strategy for risk capability across the Businesses and Functions in country and communicate to key stakeholders including local ExCo and Region/Group.
Managing and coaching high performing teams.
Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills and the ability to understand and articulate complex concepts in ordinary language to a large multicultural audience
Track record of delivering projects or assignments in tight timeframes with minimal supervision
Comfort in dealing confidently with management at the most senior levels of the Group
University-level qualifications in Banking or Audit would be an advantage.
Professional related security qualifications preferable such as CISM and CRISC.
Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel
Fluency in English required, French and/or another European language desired
