GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Director of Private Markets of the Texas Permanent School Fund, a $32+ billion public fund endowment. Performs routine fundamental investment research and analysis work. Monitors, researches and analyzes investments and markets within Private Equity and Real Estate. Assists in the investment due diligence process. Assists investment staff in manager relations and communications. Assists in maintaining due diligence files and deal flow databases. Assists in the preparation of reports for monitoring and approval of private market investments. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with initial and ongoing due diligence activities of fund investments. Track manager communications, on-site interviews, document reviews, analytics, reports and other activities.
Assist in the evaluation and monitoring of asset allocation, sector and manager exposures, and compliance with applicable policies.
Assist in building models for the purpose of modeling economic costs of investing.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of investment due diligence, investment analysis, and performance measurement technology platforms and systems.
Assist in maintenance of investment due diligence files and deal flow databases.
Provide administrative support in managing the private markets calendars and scheduling on-site due diligence visits.
Provide administrative support for private markets competitive procurements.
Pursue continuing education and training to broaden knowledge, skills and abilities.
Attend industry-specialized training and forums.
Perform related work as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
Experience: Prefer a minimum of two-years of related work experience and strong PC experience with financial analysis and software applications including advanced MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Word) skills. Prefer experience in investment research and analysis and familiarity with private market tools e.g. Thompson One, Preqin, Private I.
License/Certification: Prefer pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Travel: 10% required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of: Securities accounting, procedures, and market operations; securities research and investment banking; statistical concepts and methods and their application to research analysis; various financial data systems; and macroeconomics. Private equity and/or private real estate investments; and CRM systems is preferred.
Skill in: Mathematics, statistics, and in the use of computer software programs, particularly high performing/advanced in Word, Excel and Power point; strong oral/written communication skills; clear focus on excellent customer service and delivery of error free work product; keen interpersonal skills, be results oriented and able to exhibit strong work habits.
Ability to: Apply financial research techniques and conduct exhaustive searches and evaluations of vast amounts of data utilizing the internet and other resources; analyze, evaluate and summarize financial data and prepare management reports; prioritize the work, to be flexible and manage multiple projects and assignments with attention to details and minimum supervision; demonstrate a high degree of integrity and the ability to recognize the requirements of confidentiality; demonstrate initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment; be a team player, a self-starter and an independent thinker.

Positions exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will earn compensatory time off rather than overtime for hours in excess of 40 per week. May be required to work hours other than 8 to 5. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
