The Role The individual will assume the lead analyst role for the rating of new corporate ABS transactions. The credit rating analysis will include conducting quantitative and qualitative review of transactions' collateral pools, structures, cash flows and related legal documents. Other responsibilities include conducting appropriate market dialogue with market players on these new transactions and the asset classes under coverage, writing publishable research, delivering conference and investor presentations, contributing to the development and enhancement of methodologies and models, and performing other special tasks intended to enhance Moody's thought leadership. The candidate will prepare rating committee packages, present the recommendations to rating committees and follow all relevant policies and procedures and best practice guidelines in the credit rating process.
Act as a lead rating analyst for corporate ABS transactions. Analyze transactions' collateral pools, structures and cash flows as well as review originators and servicers and legal documents for the purpose of formulating independent credit opinions and presenting them to rating committees
Conduct appropriate market dialogue and interact effectively with market participants, including arrangers, issuers and investors
Present at industry conferences, investor briefings, issuer and investor meetings as well as internal meetings
Publish timely and insightful research, including transaction-related reports, and articles and in-depth reports on credit issues affecting the industry
Work closely with other team members for rating analysis and research
Contribute to the development and enhancement of methodologies and models
Conduct special projects for the team as required
Adherence to all applicable regulatory, code of conduct and best practice requirements and standards
The Department Moody's Corporate Asset Securitization New Ratings Team in the structured finance department is responsible for assigning new ratings to a wide variety of transactions that are backed by corporate, commercial or esoteric assets. Examples of asset classes covered by the team include leveraged corporate loans, equipment leases and loans, aircraft leases and loans, rental car/truck and fleet leases, wireless towers, insurance premium loans, structured settlements, utility cost recovery bonds, and commercial PACE and solar contracts. The team produces timely and high quality research on developing trends and events in these asset classes through sector and issuer comments and in-depth research reports, and also participates in industry conferences and conducts investor/issuer meetings.
Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Financial Engineering or related quantitative field with at least 10 years of experience as a structured finance analyst. Experience with ABS/MBS transactions is a must
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with publication and public speaking experience essential
Strong modelling skills and ability to analyze portfolio risk and perform cash flow analysis
Strong analytical orientation
Familiar with structured finance legal documents and their analysis
Sound judgment and highest ethical standards
Capable of developing independent opinions and defending own views
Work closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work
Professional, pro-active, flexible, diligent and dependable
Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Rating agency related experience is a plus
