The Business We're looking for an Audit Manager, Market Risk to join us in London, Edinburgh or Manchester
You'll confidently deliver large scale audits and help us to embed a culture of proactive and responsible risk management
This important role will place you at the heart of the bank's third line of defence, providing independent, objective testing and assurance
You'll have the opportunity to work as part of a vital team, developing your specialist knowledge in this area
What you'll do
We'll look to you to provide challenging insight and assistance on cross-business audits in areas including model build and validation, market risk, and stress testing. Working with the Senior Audit Manager and business stakeholders, you'll scope out audits, developing your understanding of the business's key risks and controls. You'll then formulate an appropriate and robust testing plan, before leading your engagement team in its execution.
The engagement stage will test your leadership abilities, and you'll be required to manage your team's work and resources, while setting standards of excellence. Quality and efficiency will be at the forefront of your approach, and you'll deliver your audits - some of which will be complex in nature - on time and to budget.
Lead the production of high quality written reports which detail any issues identified, and contribute to managing the discussion with key business stakeholders
Manage individuals within allocated audit assignments, providing constructive feedback where needed
The skills you'll need
You'll need experience in an internal audit role coupled with a strong background in risk management, and as you'll be acting as a main point of reference in this field, you'll need expert knowledge of market risk in financial markets, and investment banking products. As well as an understanding of relevant areas of regulation, you'll possess specialist knowledge of market risk methodologies and their application, also being familiar with current market risk practices.
As well as this, you'll have:
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Fantastic coaching skills, with the ability to effectively support and supervise the team through feedback and development, and to take a proactive approach towards identifying and promoting talent
Excellent stakeholder management skills, and the confidence and integrity to challenge or influence when necessary
The ability to balance a busy workload, delivering projects within budget and on time
