We are looking to hire a Vice President to join the Green Investment Group (GIG) business of Macquarie Capital, our green energy investment and advisory business across Europe. The role will be focused on the waste and bioenergy sector, however you will also have the opportunity to get involved across all of our technology sectors, including offshore wind, onshore renewables and distributed energy / energy efficiency.
You will have the opportunity to combine typical tasks of investment banking with project finance advisory, principal investing and infrastructure development. You will manage the due diligence process and development activities in relation to our principal investments in the green energy space. This will include working with clients, advisers and other third party stakeholders to bring projects through the development phase to financial close, including development of the project structure and negotiation of key contracts (EPC, O&M, fuel supply, PPA), as well as raising third party debt and equity capital to help fund projects. You will also be responsible for GIG's due diligence and consideration of the investment opportunity, and for managing the more junior members of the team, including providing guidance on financial analysis.
You will primarily be working on transactions that involve deploying GIG's balance sheet as an equity investor in the green infrastructure / renewables sector. Recent examples include investments in:

Candidates should have 6-8 years of relevant experience, and it is essential that you have experience of working on the commercial and financial aspects of renewable energy projects through the complete project development lifecycle. You will also have strong tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, experience in mentoring and supervising junior team members and strong quantitative skills including extensive experience with financial models and valuation techniques. Past experience in the waste & bioenergy sector will be favourably regarded.
