The FCSS Analytics team is looking to hire a motivated data scientist to work with us to develop models in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions Screening, External & Internal Fraud. This role provides opportunities to develop real-world models for end-user deployment. As criminal behaviour is ever-evolving, financial crime models is a dynamic area with opportunity for creativity and complex problem-solving. The work will require experimentation with the latest tools.
The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:
Develop and maintain machine learning models to detect money launderers, fraudsters, employee mal-behaviour and other financial crimes
Wrangle and pre-process data for model development
Prepare presentation material of model results
Work in a multi-disciplinary team from model development, model presentation, model deployment, model monitoring and continuous tuning
Prepare all necessary documentation for model approval
Liaison with key stakeholders (e.g. end-users, regulators, auditors) on areas pertaining to financial crime models, business rules, reports, and data
Automate financial crime reports and dashboards
Minimum Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years working experience, or Master or PhD degree with at least 2 years' experience.
Expertise in machine learning techniques such as Stochastic gradient boosting, random forest, CART, regularization, elasticnet, deep learning, k-means is required.
Expertise with R and SQL is required. Python and SAS skills are a strong bonus
Strong coding skills is a must.
Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Impala is desired
Experience in Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk management, Audit or other Control function is desirable
Experience with natural language processing and text mining is highly desirable
Teamwork and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team is required
