Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to support the AB&C Advisory Function with all aspects of AB&C knowledge management including global legislation, regulatory requirements and policy and education requirements, with a particular focus on policy development:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Support and advise on the development and enhancement of strategic AB&C policies, procedures and systems and ensure that exposure to bribery and corruption risk is managed, in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost effective manner.
Provide support to drive, develop and implement policy developments to embed AB&C processes and practices into relevant processes throughout HSBC's global organisation.
Work closely with Global, Business Line and Regional AB&C Advisory teams to assist with the design and implementation of an effective AB&C escalations procedure and support required escalation activities.
Act as a source of expertise on AB&C legislative, enforcement and regulatory expectations globally.
Provide support and advice on the development and drafting of education and training.
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, act as a point of contact and advise when required, particularly on legislative, enforcement and regulatory expectations.
Support various AB&C project workstreams, including communications strategy, drafting & development and Education drafting and development.
Work collaboratively with Regional, Country, Function and Business Line AB&C staff to assist them to deliver on their requirements in a coordinated manner.
Engage with external organisations including representing HSBC AB&C in presentations, conferences and training programmes.
Responsible for assisting AB&C Global Leads with relevant AB&C policies, procedures and governance.
To be successful in the role, it is likely that you will meet the following requirements:
Strong policy drafting skills
Previous background of working in a matrix organization beneficial, though not essential.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English essential, and one other language beneficial.
Banking experience and knowledge beneficial to role, though not essential.
Project Management experience beneficial to role, though not essential.
Strong relationship management with a focus on policy requirements. Able to work with individuals at different levels.
