One of the largest banking groups in Asia seeks a Deputy Head of Compliance to join their London business. The firm is actively building their corporate, commercial and retail banking services within the UK and has a strategy to continue to develop their trading & treasury services businesses with European clients as well.
The bank has invested heavily into the development of their UK business and has grown significantly over the last 10 years. They have also acquired their completely refurbished office building in the City of London.
As Deputy Head of Compliance, you will have a wide range of responsibilities in the management of the compliance department such as:
Work together with the Head of Compliance to ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of a robust and effective compliance framework that is fully embedded throughout the banks' operating departments;
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that the conduct risk factors associated with the bank's business are fully understood and managed;
Promote effective communication on compliance matters throughout the wider Group and participate in the development of a comprehensive group-wide compliance framework;
Proactively participate in the regulatory change programme and lead project work to ensure the bank is able meet regulatory expectations;
Provide expert input to the New Product Approval process;
Represent the Compliance Department in both key internal meetings and also in engagements with industry bodies as required by the Head of Compliance, assisting with the preparation and presentation of Compliance reports, management information and analysis;
Deputise for the Head of Compliance as required, ensuring that the Compliance Department delivers effective support to the business areas at all times;
Assist with the mentoring and development of team members.
Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the UK regulatory structure and the PRA and FCA Handbook rules;
A good understanding of wholesale markets operations and related conduct risk issues;
Excellent communication skills with fluency, both written and verbal;
Ability to make a real difference in a rapidly changing environment;
Good understanding of EMIR, MiFID II highly desirable;
A minimum of 5 years' experience in general Compliance role within the Banking Sector.
