Our client is in search of a Commercial / IP / Technology / Outsourcing Lawyer to join as Legal Counsel within their Procurement Group Legal department. The institution is a highly-established organisation with their Headquarters based in London. The role is a 12-month contract, paying 600-800 a day.
This role will be responsible for supporting the bank with various issues involving intellectual property, technology, data protection, outsourcing and offshoring in support of the global Procurement Function. The role will focus on analysis of legislation, regulatory policy developments and consultant papers, and identifying any impact and consequences for the organisation.
Work closely with the buyers and various procurement projects and provide advice on building contractual relationships with third party providers.
Work as part of a negotiation team in conjunction with Procurement to review and draft contracts and analysing risks connected.
Follow compliance and regulations to ensure contract templates follow legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Support the organisation and work with internal SMEs on outsourcing, IP, IT, data protection operational and legal complications.
Work closely with other teams within the Legal Department and other internal areas to support them on various projects. Also communicate with external legal counsel.
Provide support with the current programme which includes preparing procedures, precedents, templates, used manuals and training to lower risks and enable procurement buyers to become more self-sufficient.
Minimum Experience and Knowledge
A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualified experience, within a private practice and in house
Experience of working in a major international jurisdiction, particularly within an international law firm or investment bank.
Experience in a Technology / IP / Procurement / Outsourcing team.
Previously worked with negotiation of contracts from customer side and has knowledge of banking and financial services
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with demanding client base and various jurisdictions within the bank.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for meeting tight deadlines and assimilating complex legal and regulatory material with limited admin support.
French language skills would be highly beneficial but not necessary.
