Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consults with business users to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities. Performs enterprise wide data warehouse development and reporting. Develops and customizes BI Reports and Dashboards for business users. Performs data analysis for financial data including Assets, Holdings, and Flows.
Primary Responsibilities :
Leads and conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements, and understand technology needs as well as system and workflow challenges.
Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects, and defines project scope.
Leads other analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.
Designs new systems based on requirements.
Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Serves as industry subject matter expert, and identifies other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for large and complex projects.
Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.
Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, and determines/facilitates any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
Coaches and mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree (willing to accept a three year degree or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience in business or systems analysis of asset management corporate finance systems capturing assets, flows, and trading.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in business or systems analysis of asset management corporate finance systems capturing assets, flows, and trading.
Skills and Knowledge :
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") in analysis and design of data warehouses using SQL and PL/SQL, Netezza, and Informatica .
DE in analysis and design of data warehouses, including designing business intelligence and analytics tools using Oracle Applications, specifically OBI and Financial Reporting.
DE in data Extraction Transformation and Load (ETL) design .
DE developing Financial Services Business Models (Investment Management, Distribution, Investment Management Product Manufacturing, and Pricing) and presenting to stakeholders on key business metrics (Assets, Flows, Trades, Revenue and Expense) to drive Corporate Strategy and decision making .
